Homeland Security Council

Purpose:
 To provide guidance for local jurisdictions and Tribes to develop a sustainable and all-hazards approach to Terrorism and Homeland Security initiatives that emphasizes both inter- and intra-regional mutual aid, implementation of the Incident Command System (ICS) and development of an integrated process for emergency operations planning, training, exercising and equipping.

All activities are to focus on expanding regional cooperation and maximizing our collective ability to safeguard and protect the citizens of Washington State, and tribes located therein, from all hazards.



Welcome to the  Washington State Region 1 Homeland Security Council website.


As you can see, the website is in early development, but will be improved and updated over time.

The purpose of this website is to keep Council members aware and informed of current events relating to the Council, as well as serve as a clearinghouse for information and contacts. The Council members are listed in the right column, and are linked to their website.

The Navigation Menu on the left has links to programs, calendars and region 1 documents.

The  Secure page requires a log-in and contains Council documents.

The 2nd link brings you to the Calendar page, showing important meeting dates and events for the Region 1 HLS Council members. On the Calendar page, there is another link to the specific Training and Exercise Calendar
.

The third link  brings you to the Regional CERT webPortal, which provides all the information you need to create, maintain and teach a CERT program. A training calendar is available showing CERT training in      Region 1.

The Block Watch webPortal brings you to a webpage showing you information how you can create a Block Watch program in your community.

The NW Incident Management Team is a team of highly trained, experienced and credentialed people that can come together and deploy with appropriate equipment and personnel. This link will bring you to their website.
